Introduction Movement Resource Center (MRC) is a dynamic platform for activists and leaders of social movements to connect and innovatively respond to injustices and civic restrictions. MRC supports activists in learning and sharing strategies and tactics for effective movement building. MRC consists of an interactive map and database that analyzes social movements, their needs, actions, and impact, and importantly, makes this information open and easily accessible for public use.
Objectives Movement Resource Center has two major objectives that aim to address major gaps existing in the social movements in South Asia. First, MRC focuses on contributing to knowledge production and capacity development of activists. Second, it creates a digital solution for activists and leaders of social movements to connect, explore, and learn effective tools and techniques for activism.
Outcome Movement Resource Center will flourish interconnectedness between social movements and enhance strategies and tools of nonviolent civil resistance and creative expression at the grassroots of South Asia. It will further strengthen citizen engagement in social, economic, political, and cultural spheres. MRC will also empower activists and changemakers with knowledge, skills, and tactics to hold power accountable. Civic groups and media can also use our information to connect with social movements and co-develop better tools for civic engagement and community empowerment.
